Electrical problem
Harry does call-outs. Weekdays 8am to 5pm: £80 for the first hour, then £50 an hour. Out of hours: £120 for the first hour.
If you can reach it safely, switch off at the main switch on your fuse board. Do not touch anything that is hot, wet or scorched. If there is smoke or fire, get everyone out and ring 999.
If one switch has dropped, unplug everything on that circuit and try it once. If it trips again with nothing plugged in, leave it off. Check with your neighbours too: if their power is off, it is a power cut, so ring 105.
A photo of the fuse board and the problem on WhatsApp is the quickest way for Harry to tell you whether it needs a visit today or can wait.
Reviews
“Couldn’t recommend enough, we got spotlights and electric circuit board replaced in our house on the same day, done the work on a day that was best for us, very well priced compared to others and very reliable!”

“Completed a thorough review first, reasonable quote and then completed the work to a high standard and on time (new kitchen lights, sockets & appliances). He was a pleasure to have come and complete the work and was very respectful of the home. He has good experience and we would recommend.”

“Harry came out and sorted an outside light for us, including fitting waterproof outdoor plugs. He also installed a light at the front of the house and fixed a blown socket that our dishwasher was running from.”

Questions
Not sure what you need? Send Harry a photo and he will tell you.
WhatsApp HarryIt depends mostly on the number of bedrooms, whether the cables are chased into the walls, and how many sockets and lights you want. The rewiring cost calculator above gives you a range in under a minute. Harry then fixes the price after a look at the house, because the condition of what is behind the walls is what moves the figure.
An EICR (Electrical Installation Condition Report) is a full inspection and test of the wiring, fuse board and circuits in a property. For a rented home in England it has to be done at least every 5 years under the 2020 regulations, and tenants need a copy. For an owner-occupied home, every 10 years is the usual guide, or when you buy or sell.
C1 means danger present, and it is made safe straight away. C2 means potentially dangerous and needs putting right. FI means further investigation is needed. C3 is a recommended improvement, not a fail. A report with any C1, C2 or FI is unsatisfactory until the work is done.
Usually a faulty appliance, water getting into an outdoor socket or light, or a fault on one circuit. Unplug everything on the circuit that tripped and try it once. If it trips again with nothing plugged in, leave it off and send Harry a photo of the board on WhatsApp.
Not always. A modern consumer unit with RCD protection and a spare way is often fine. Older boards with wire fuses, or a supply without enough room, may need upgrading first. Harry checks the board and supply before any charger goes on the wall, and tells you before you commit.
Most domestic consumer unit swaps are done in a day, with the power off for part of it. Every circuit is tested before the power goes back on, and you get a certificate for the new board.
Harry is based in Halewood and works across Liverpool and the towns around it, including Huyton, Widnes, Runcorn, St Helens, Kirkby, Bootle, Crosby and Formby. If you are not sure, send your postcode on WhatsApp and he will tell you straight.
