Runcorn
Runcorn is two towns in one. There is the old town by the river, with its Victorian terraces, and the new town built from the late 1960s onwards, with estates like Palace Fields, Murdishaw and Windmill Hill. Harry is a NAPIT approved electrician and works across both.
It is over the bridge from Widnes, so it is an easy run from Halewood. Harry works alone, so the person you speak to is the one who comes out, does the work and hands you the certificate at the end. He also covers Castlefields and the old town.
What people call Harry for
Electrical work in Runcorn
Most of Runcorn new town was built in the 1970s and 80s, so many homes are now around 40 to 50 years old. The wiring is often fine, but a lot still have the original consumer unit, or a plastic one fitted before 2016. The old town terraces near the river are older still and more likely to need a rewire. Newer estates and many new town houses have parking, which suits an EV charger.
- Fuse board replacementPlenty of new town homes still have the board they were built with in the 1970s or 80s.
- EICR certificatesLots of Runcorn homes are rented, and landlords need an EICR at least every five years.
- House rewiresVictorian terraces in the old town can still have original or very early wiring.
- EV charger installationHouses with a drive or their own parking space can have a home charger fitted.
- Electrical repairsOlder boards and sockets on 40 year old estates are a common cause of tripping and faults.

“Couldn’t recommend enough, we got spotlights and electric circuit board replaced in our house on the same day, done the work on a day that was best for us, very well priced compared to others and very reliable!”

“Completed a thorough review first, reasonable quote and then completed the work to a high standard and on time (new kitchen lights, sockets & appliances). He was a pleasure to have come and complete the work and was very respectful of the home. He has good experience and we would recommend.”

“Harry came out and sorted an outside light for us, including fitting waterproof outdoor plugs. He also installed a light at the front of the house and fixed a blown socket that our dishwasher was running from.”

WhatsApp HarryDo you come over to Runcorn?
Yes. Runcorn is over the bridge from Widnes and Harry covers Halton, Palace Fields, Murdishaw, Windmill Hill and the rest of the town.
My Runcorn house was built in the 70s. Does it need rewiring?
Not always. Wiring from that era is often still sound, but the board may be out of date. An EICR will tell you either way.
Can I have an EV charger if I park in a shared parking bay?
Only if the space is yours and you have permission from whoever owns the land. Harry will need to know where the cable would run before he quotes.
