Liverpool
Liverpool has almost every kind of house going. Victorian terraces in Wavertree and Walton, big old villas in Aigburth, 1930s semis in Allerton and Childwall, and post-war estates in Speke. Each one needs something different from an electrician, and Harry deals with them all.
Harry works on his own, so the person you speak to is the person who turns up and does the job. Tell him what is going on by phone or WhatsApp, send a photo of your fuse board if you can, and he will tell you straight what it needs.
What people call Harry for
Electrical work in Liverpool
A lot of Liverpool homes are over 80 years old. In the older terraces you still find rubber or lead covered cable, rewireable fuses and sockets only in the skirting. The 1930s semis have often been rewired once, but decades ago, with a plastic board added later. Rented terraces and student houses around Wavertree and Smithdown need a landlord EICR every five years, and city flats and terraces without a drive make EV chargers harder than in the suburbs.
- EICR certificatesLiverpool has a lot of privately rented terraces and student houses, and every one needs an EICR at least every five years.
- House rewiresVictorian and Edwardian terraces in Walton, Anfield and Wavertree can still have original rubber covered cable that has gone brittle.
- Fuse board replacementMany 1930s semis in Allerton and Childwall still run on an old fuse box or a plastic board fitted before 2016.
- EV charger installationHomes with a drive in Woolton, Childwall and West Derby are ideal for a home charger.
- Electrical repairsOld wiring in old houses means tripping circuits, dead sockets and lights that flicker.

“Couldn’t recommend enough, we got spotlights and electric circuit board replaced in our house on the same day, done the work on a day that was best for us, very well priced compared to others and very reliable!”

“Completed a thorough review first, reasonable quote and then completed the work to a high standard and on time (new kitchen lights, sockets & appliances). He was a pleasure to have come and complete the work and was very respectful of the home. He has good experience and we would recommend.”

“Harry came out and sorted an outside light for us, including fitting waterproof outdoor plugs. He also installed a light at the front of the house and fixed a blown socket that our dishwasher was running from.”

Liverpool
Not sure what you need? Send Harry a photo and he will tell you.
WhatsApp HarryWhich parts of Liverpool do you cover?
The whole city. Harry is based in Halewood, so the south side (Woolton, Allerton, Garston, Speke, Childwall, Aigburth) is closest, but he also works in Wavertree, West Derby, Walton and the city centre.
I rent out a terrace in Liverpool. How often does it need an EICR?
Under the 2020 rules for private rented homes in England, at least every five years, and before a new tenancy if the last report is older than that. Tenants get a copy within 28 days of the inspection.
Can I get an EV charger if I live on a terraced street with no drive?
A home charger needs off-street parking, such as a drive. Running a cable across the pavement is not allowed without the council saying yes, so Harry cannot fit one for on-street parking.
Do I need to be in when you do the work?
For most jobs someone needs to let Harry in and he will need the power off for part of the day. He will tell you how long beforehand.
